Pumpkin Hunt

Back in Houston again for the annual Pumpkin Hunt and Photo Shoot with the grand-kids. It's always more challenging to do it in 90 degree weather, but off we went for a bit of fun.

First changing Jackson into something photo-worthy,

then we were off as Jordan pointed us in the right direction.

Pre photo shoot,  a lot of pumpkin analysis,

hugging of trees,

and making new friends with the scarecrows.

Meanwhile, Jackson played a little hide and seek,

and spent a whole ton of energy moving pumpkins

and filling wagons to their brim.

Time for a photo shoot.

It's really tough work for a big sister, holding the perfect smile till a little brother looks into the camera with a charming smile of his own.

Sometimes a sister has to do a lot of bribing,

tickling,

peek-a-boo playing,

stare downs,

and even some threatening to get a little brother to cooperate!

Uh, oh! I think she means business!

Now the kissin' starts,

Help me somebody!

She's torturing me!

Guess I better give them what they want! How's this for a smile?

And this one?

Finally, the stars align for a great shot,

and when they do,

there's some sweet music

playing...

Happy Pumpkin Hunting everyone!

Halloween-Family Style

We got a head start on Halloween yesterday when our church hosted our annual Fall Festival with Trunk  and Treating.  Jordan and I had a special afternoon prepping at the local "glam" spa for young girls

where she got the special treatment, including her first pedicure,

and a manicure

topped off with the most sparkly polish treatment available.

Then it was on to the hair styling

where French braids were the perfect "do"

for Dorothy, her Halloween persona!

Making her rounds around the cars in the parking lot, Jordan found her Poppy

and her Aunt Holly and Mama Rue, my sister and mother who gave her the special treatment.

And who else was there? Brother Jackson, as the Scarecrow,  and Daddy Tin Man!

Who needs candy when you're already this sweet?

Part of the fun was hanging out with friends, like Emerson, who was very interested in Jackson's pacifier,

and Addison, one of Jordan's buddies.

Definitely a family night for the whole Wizard of Oz family!

Hope your day is full of sweet treats!

Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin patch time!

Let me think--what should we get this year?

This little guy is ready for the hunt!

I'll scope them out and you pick them up...

Got one for me!

How about this one for you?

Kisses for little "punkin"

XOXO

Pumpkin hunting!

It's time to pick a pumpkin!

Wow! So many to choose from--where do I start?

Big or small, orange or white?

Oh! This scarecrow looks like he could use one!

Maybe these fake leaves would help too! All these trees here in Texas still have their green leaves on them.

This is HARD work--gotta' snack,

and sit a spell.

I think I found my favorite,

a little one like me!

Yippee! From the pumpkin patch to the pizza place. Let's go celebrate.

Happy Halloween!
